Electric Guitars Reviews
There are many different types of electric guitar a person could buy, and they all range in price, style, design and tone. The various components that make a guitar each play a very important role in the sound the guitar will produce. The pickups, bridge and strings affect the sound, tone and sustain. And the actual body of the electric guitar plays a role as well. When looking at guitars, the type of electric guitar design chosen is a vital factor towards any decision. Ultimately, it comes down to the style of music being played that is the determining factor in which guitar is chosen.
Electric Guitar Body Styles
With electric guitars, there are three basic body types to choose from: solid body, semi-hollow body, and hollow body.
Solid Body
The most well-known and recognized electric guitar is the solid body. The solid body electric guitar has been played by everyone from Jimi Hendrix to Jimmy Page, and they are the most common type players gravitate towards.
Every style of music has been played on solid bodied guitars because of their versatility and range. The most common types of solid body guitars are the Gibson and Fender brands, more specifically the Les Paul and the Stratocaster. Notably, Gibson and Fender models provide the foundation of most guitars produced.

Semi-Hollow Body
Semi-hollow guitars are a kind of best of both worlds, having an acoustic sound with the amplification of a solid body. They tend to have a brighter woody tone than their solid body counterparts and are versatile throughout a range of styles.
They are feedback resistant, have the sustain of a solid body and are typically thinner than hollow-bodies. B.B. King, Noel Gallagher (from Oasis) and Chuck Berry are known to use Semi-Hollow guitars. And some distinguished semi-hollows include the Fender Telecaster Thinline and the Gibson ES-335.

Hollow Body
They are most known by their arched top design. Hollow body guitars offer a mellower acoustic feel than both the solid body and semi-hollow designs. Hollow bodies also have a full round tone that is favored by many jazz guitarists. However, the hollow body is extremely prone to feedback problems when played at high volumes. The Gibson ES-335 Resissue Vos and the PRS Hollowbody II are notable designs.
